H. Pylori

What are the signs of H. Pylori? My husband was diagnosed a month ago and he didn't take his medication like he was supposed to! My stomach has been feeling rather icky lately.

Well - H.Pylori is contagious. It is commonly found in chickens, which must be washed and cooked thoroughly. So-called "tripple therapy", using three different antibiotics, has been found to be effective in killing the bacteria. Starting and not completing the regimin is a recipe for developing an organism that will not respond to any antibiotics. The test is relatively simple and inexpensive. Go to your physician and get tested. If your husband is still positive, ask the physician for another prescription for him. Throw out your toothbrushes. They can retain the bacteria.  Do a google search for the article in Scientific American magazine regarding H. Pylori.
