Why do I get severe stomach pains after eating NUTS?

I'm a generally healthy 40 yr old female.  I noticed a few years ago that my stomach would hurt after eating raw almonds, but no other nut (raw or roasted) hurt me, just raw almonds.  Up until a month ago that was the case, however now peanuts, walnuts & almonds of any variety cause stomach aching.

I am a big seafood, salad, whole grain, and nut NUT!  Last night we went to Fuddrucker's and I had a romaine lettuce salad with grilled chicken and very few sliced almonds...today I can hardly move from the severe cramping and pain in my stomach.

Everything I'm reading is leading me to gall bladder issues.  Problem with that theory is that greasy foods (although I hardly eat them anymore) never have seemed to bother me.  So what's wrong with me???

Any suggestions would be more than welcome!

I know this is an old thread, but I recently have had the same issue. I had my entire gallbladder removed 30 years ago, but last year was hospitalized with sever appendicitis and ever since, if I eat any nut or peanut butter, I get the same exact pain as I had when I had gall stones!! But of course I don't have a gall bladder so I'm just beside myself with the pain - it lasts from 2 hours to 2 days.

Me too.  Once 5 days.  You are not the only one.  Sunflower seeds > peanuts >  ?almonds gives me abdominal pain, diffuse, esp in the regions associated with the G.B.  After much testing: nothing is found amiss with my G.B.  I don't know why.  Nothing can make me eat nuts due to the consistent, strong post prandial pain.  Some Drs. speculate it is related to a tick bite I once had which is associated with literally 100's of diseases.  If you have any other clues, let me know - - -  MemoInSeattle
Have you had any allergy testing? Food allergies (any allergy, really) can develop at any age.

Have you noticed it when eating anything with nuts - like certain sauces, for example - or just when eating the nut itself?

You could have diverticulitis, which nuts are a big culprit for causing pain. They get caught in the diverticula pouches and cause pain. Just a thought.
