Will my Gastroparesis go away?

I'm a healthy 16 year old girl and I was diagnosed with suspected post viral gastroparesis about a month ago  following a gastric emptying test. However I wondered whether my GP could have been caused by under eating and/or stress because I only started getting the symptoms when I started to control what I ate and when I lost weight (which I'm now slowly putting back on). My doctor gave me domperidone to take once a day or twice if I need it. I also take ranitidine before dinner to help with acid reflux. I found that the anti acid tablet helps but not the domperidone yet but my doctor says it takes time to work. My symptoms are constant nausea, feeling full very quickly after small amounts of food, loss of appetite and sometimes stomach pains. I also lost my period when I started to lose weight and I haven't got it back just yet although I do get pms. I've been getting really depressed because I just don't see how it can get any better. My doctor says there's no cure and he can't tell me if it will just go away on its own. I'm currently trying to eat foods which are more easily digested and with less fibre which has helped a little bit but I still constantly feel nauseas. I just hate it and it effects me everyday and stops me from doing all the things I want to do. Plus I have a phobia of sickness which doesn't help. I would just like some reassurance and hope from other people who've had GP and is now better or gone. Thanks

You could ask to try taking mirtazapine as it has been known to help a patient rapidly as appeared in a gastroenterology journal.  It is a type of antidepressant, but it isn't given for depression for this problem.  It has other actions.  I don't usually suggest asking an MD for a rx, but for this problem it might be a good use, hopefully causing improvement and maybe not needed for the rest of your life.  But it is important to get good nutrition for your brain health and bones and preventing cancer.

You might try L-glutamine as it is a supplement that helped improve absorption for me when I was recovering from Celiac damage to my intestines.  It is the only thing that turned things around and helped me gain weight.
