What else could it be if not gallbladder

Im feeling extremely helpless at this moment. I've been having upper right quadrant pain for over a month now. First they said it was colitis. So they gave me cipro and flagyl for that. A week later no change, infact i was by this time projectile vomitting late at night a good portion of my daily intake of food. So I go to my doctor who immediately hospitalizes me. An ultrasound was performed and showed nothing and the next morning, an upper GI was performed and all it showed was gastiritis. So they released me from the hospital the following day. My personal doctor said he wanted to me to follow up a week later and he was going to schedule me for a hida scan. So a few days ago, I went back to him and he back tracked saying he just doesnt believe I need it due to the fact that some of my pain is centered at my sternum, even though it is radiating all over the right side. Im constantly in some type of pain on my right side which is always made worse when I eat, no matter what I eat. Any ideas here or should I consider consulting a dif set of doctors?

Call that dr monday morning and demand a hida scan and if he does not do it go find another GI immediately.

I agree - hida scan would be a good idea.
Another option would be a barium swallow.  That is usually done before a hida scan though.

Feel better.

I would demand the HIDA scan... I had similar symptoms but mine went on for 7 months.. bounced around between Gi's and surgeon... lost 44 lbs... all the tests were negative except the HIDA scan which showed biliary dyskinesia with a normal EF.  I had my gallbladder out in January and all my symptoms are gone.  When i had it out my surgeon told me there was a ton of scar tissue (which never showed on MRI, CT scan or ultrasound) so cant hurt to have the HIDA scan done.
