anxiety

I have had this problem for many years.I have a reaction to anti depressants. IT's a Lsd affect. I can take ativan and other meds of this kind but they are as needed. Can anyone tell me any other ideas? If I drink it goes away but when alcohol wears of it comes right back. I go to therpy but someone telling you to relax don't work I thought of that.

Where do you live?  There is a brilliant pshcopharmacologist who is in Michigan who is great at helping people get on anxiety meds who have bad effects to them.  His name is Dr. Allen Rosenbaum, and he's in Farmington Hills.  In the meantime, if you haven't already tried xanax, ask your dr. for some.  Good luck!

I am so sorry to hear that you are struggling with anxiety.  I'm not a doctor and the only med I've heard of is Elavil.

Have you tried relaxation exercises?  It sounds stupid, but if you practice pursed-lip breathing exercises or recite a verse/poem/prayer in your mind while breathing in deeply and exhaling slowly, it sometimes relieves anxiety.

All the best,

Sam
