bathroom problems

I know that at least almost everyone has had a bathroom problem before in their life like diarhea,constipation,etc..
Ever since I was a baby I would hold in my poop and when my parents seperated I held it up until I was 12. Once I turned 13 I decided that I should try to go and that It's not normal to hold it in.. I'm now 15 years of age but unfortunately, I still have those problems.. my body is so used to holding it in that I usually get constipated and no matter what I eat its still hard to go.. I am currently having pain in my lower stomache and a few times it would hurt  to go to the bathroom. During the summer i would have to take a lot of things to go to the bathroom and i started eating healthy and even if i eat one unhealthy thing its always bad for me. Someone please help I'm tired of this and I want answers

There's a bunch of things you can do to break this habit and feel more like going.  First of all, you should have a general time of day that you tend to go the bathroom, and you should feel like going virtually every day at that time.  If you kind of know about what time that is, like right after breakfast, or right after dinner, or the moment you get up, or WHATEVER, then every day, that's when you should be feeling this urge to go.  Nearly all people, except die-hard alcoholics and meth addicts, will go at a particular time, it's just the way the body works, it has a built-in clock.  So, become aware of this, allow time for toileting, and if you go, great, and if you don't, well, you'll get the urge again the next day.  So, just make some time for it to become routine.

Next, some things will encourage going to the bathroom.  Me, I get up, eat breakfast, drink A CUP OF COFFEE, and after a short while, I get THE URGE.  So, I always go right after breakfast, and it's the waking-up adrenaline, the push of morning food, introducing fluids into the body, and the kicker of coffee that sets it off for sure.  So, therefore, let us say you like to go after dinner, then I would suggest you drink maybe a HALF cup of coffee (just half, since you will need the caffeine to wear off by bedtime), and coffee causes the bowels and whole body to rev up, and this will really help you get that urge to go.  Also, in terms of weekly stuff that helps bowels move, that would be three things:  drink plenty of extra water, get enough exercise, and eat fiber often (oat cereal for mornings, whole grain sandwich for lunches, a salad with dinners).

Now, you say if you eat one single thing unhealthy, it's always bad for you.  May I make a suggestion?  Quit thinking about what the heck you're eating.  Just practice enough GOOD habits to where it's an automatic habit.  THAT'S IT.  WE ALL EAT LIKE FOOLS at one time or another.  We all go get take-out and eat French fries, we all eat out at restaurants and what all is in THAT food, and we all sometimes just gotta have that giant chocolate desert that fills us to the top.  It's normal.  But as long as you habitually practice good habits, that will mitigate the bad habits, and BELIEVE ME, almost whatever terrible thing you done, then if you normally make healthy choices, the stuff will STILL come out, like clockwork, nearly every day when you usually toilet.

Now, another tip is that sometimes even the very best of us gets diarrhea or constipation.  In your case, it's constipation, since you used to hold it in.  And as far as I'm concerned, that's how you dealt with life's challenges, which was basically a case of nerves, and now you are an adult and handling things more normally.  So, like all people, once in a while you're gonna have times when it just won't come out.  You have three choices:  Ignore it and give up and leave the bathroom, or use some sort of laxative or stool softener pill and hope for the best the next day, or doing something IMMEDIATE that will make the stuff come out by golly within minutes.  This requires direct laxative stuff, like BabyLax or PediaLax ointment or a laxative suppository.

I would also advise that if this hesitation just keeps right on going, then after each time you bathe, until you get more regular, put some KY jelly on the rear (not the flavored kinds... get the blue and white tube) OR you can put Vaseline back there.  Reason to do this is because whenever you get that urge, you will be "pre-lubricated," and this might make it easier for stuff to pop on out.

Also, you need to find time several times a week to deliberately relax.  You can do this by meditation, deep breathing, stretching and then laying down flat on the floor with your legs bent and arms out to the side and listen to the silence.  Some people really like spending a little time just reading and listening to music.  For me, nothing relaxes me more than sitting by a fireplace in winter.  I also like to do puzzles, artwork, playing guitar.  Just whatever distracts me from the stresses of life, I like to do.  It's a good idea, tho, to position your body to where you are completely at ease when you do those things.  Even just finally climbing into bed at night, where it's REALLY comfy, and reading a ltitle and watching some TV, and just thanking heaven for all your blessings, this is VERY relaxing and in fact makes us sleep.

I hope something in all this stuff I've said will help you.  If you're majorly clogged up, you may need to do a few enemas, a few rounds of laxatives and powder fiber stuff sometimes.  And the reason it sometimes hurts to go is because the waste has gotten larger and harder from not being able to go, so if it hurts, use the lubricants I mentioned, KY or Vaseline, no need to suffer.  The main idea is to sort of shift from being determined to go to the bathroom, to instead doing the basic right stuff as an unconscious habit, use whatever medicines and such to help things along, and follow some of the advice I've given, and just let it go.  You'll either go or you won't... see, the less you think about it and the more you do most of the basic good stuff as a habit, then one day you won't be worried about it ever again and things will just happen naturally.  Let us know if anything works for you.

Quiet,
I wish you the best of luck with this, and reminder: drink extra water, and if things don't vastly improve, you could visit your doc and they may have some tips on getting regular that are oriented towards medicine solutions.
