burning pain

I have upper abdomen pain & pain between my shoulder blades after meals. Also a burning pain almost all the time around my waist/sides. (below navel) Could this be caused by gallstones??? I had a ct scan - showed slight bowel inflammation. Upper Gi showed  hiatal  hernia. And a colonoscopy - normal. Endoscopy showed gastritis. My Gyn. said I also  have signs of endo. Really confusing.

H. pylori is not just seen under the microscope, they have to do a test for H. pylori, and they did it or not, I don't know, you can ask them. Also large intestine goes from right low abdomen up to the liver, below the stomach toward the spleen and then down toward the rectum. So in either upper or lower CT both small and large intestine are seen.

The ct scan was done during the upper GI, so I think it was thickening in the small intestine. When I had the endoscopy it showed gastritis and they tested some tissue. Wouldn't that of shown H. pylori?

It's not really confusing.

Helycobacter pylori causes inflammation of the stomach, from here UPPER ABDOMINAL PAIN. This bacteria yield gas, from here HARD STOMACH, which is from bloating from this gas. The same bacteria trigger acid secretion in stomach, which, when you have HIATUS HERNIA, refluxes up into esophagus and causes BURNING, TINGLING PAIN BETWEEN SHOULDER BLADES.

Suggestion: have a breath test for H. pylori. Your symptoms are quite typical.

The only thing which doesn't go with H. pylori (and it may be an additional issue) is the "pain on the sides". I was hoping, you would knew, if CT showed thickening in SMALL or LARGE intestine. Can you recall this?

Hi, the ct scan showed slight bowel inflammation and little bit of intestinal wall thickening. But they said it was nothing to worry about.
I keep having a burning pain in my midsection (around belly button) mainly my sides.  I already had a labaroscopy done -signs of possible endo. The pain after I eat feels like pressure- sometimes my stomach feels hard. It causes a burning/tingling pain between my shoulder blades.It is just kinda confusing. I guess it is a combination of things? Thanks

Your symptoms could be your gall bladder. I just had mine out this last Saturday due to it not functioning. It was only working 10% this was learned by having  (h i d a ) scan done. In Dec. 06 I had shoulder surgery and had a long time getting better. I've since learned your gall bladder can cause shoulder pain and pain in your shoulder blade. I thought I might need shoulder replacement but majority of pain from gall bladder. You would be surprised at the number of people who had their gall bladders removed. All ages. So you can have alot of pain with out stones. I've also had endometreosis & hysterectomy for that. That pain was very sharp and lower in the abdomin , groin area. It will double you over and is worse when you are getting your period.

Gastritis + hiatal hernia obviously causes acid reflux into your esophagus, what causes pain "between shoulder blades" after the meals. Would you describe this as a heartburn?

Pain from gallbladder is felt on the RIGHT side just below the right part of the rib cage, and is cramping pain, usually after fatty meals.

Endometriosis can be evaluated by laparoscopy - endoscopic investigation of abdominal cavity (through abdominal wall).

"intestinal inflammation" seen on CT and nothing shown in colonoscopy is little confussing. So inflammation was in small bowel?
