Go to PharmacyChecker.com. This site is recommended by the AARP to help people find International pharmacies shipping to the US. I've been using BlueSky Drugs, which I found there, to get my Nexium. Here that med is $150/month. There I get a 4 month supply for about $100. (And this is the AstraZeneca branded version. Generics are 1/2 that price.) Note that it can take up to 20 business days to ship, depending on where you are and where the drug is coming from.
Note that this pharmacy, like any found in PharmacyChecker, requires prescription.
For the record, I just looked up Pantoprazole (Protonix) there and it returned the following list of prices: ~$.37/pill for 20mg Generic, ~$.56/pill for 40mg Generic, ~$.95/pill 20mg Brand, ~$1.10/pill 40mg Brand.
For the moment, see if your doc will allow you to use generic Omeprazole (aka, Prilosec OTC). While there are better things out there, it might work as a stop gap measure that's not as extreme as Reglan.
Good luck.
Hi. I take Prevacid, which is a little pricey, even with insurance. However, there is another one, Aciphex, which was about 30 dollars cheaper. I am back on the Prevacid as the Aciphex didn't work as well ( for me...I was on Prevacid for years and only switched because of the cost...65 dollars). You may want to ask about that. Also, I was told my pharmacist that otc prilosic works well too.
Mtgoat, I really hesitate to say this but reglan is not a replacement for any PPI. It's a pro-motility drug and it needs to be taken in a specific manner and it cannot be continued for long periods of time. PLEASE fully discuss the correct use of this med with your doc. As the other poster mentioned, reglan can have some very, very serious drawbacks.
I am taking tagamet otc- Walmart generic brand and for me it is better than the rx ones- But that's just me.... Reglan has horrendous side effect such as pseudo parkinsonism - I hope it works for you- it is great just monitor carefully- Good luck
