how many have had a colonoscopy and was it bad, the prep i ok with the putting to sleep i not like

That seems very strange that they are giving you general anesthesia.  Are you sure they said that are giving you general anesthesia?  They usually have to intubate you (give you a breathing tube down your throat to breathe) and there are a lot more risks with general anesthesia than with just sedation.  Most people who are given sedation for their colonoscopies (which is the norm) do not remember any of their colonoscopy and they have no ill effects.

so sorry your having to go again, i dont even want to have the one much less 3 so close together .   did they not say why?    the new dr i go to has a place like surgery and they have a anthesoies (sp) like your haveing surgery and you are knocked out all the way. no light sedatives

realy they only give me a sedative like i said i had it twice back end of 2011, and funny enough iv just got letter today  they want another look go for that week after easter 17 april...but i will be asking  why 3 tests in such a short  period of time ..so here i go again...

yeah they put you out where i am going . i will be fine with it just had get over the thought of doing it. i had one in 1999 wow didnt know it was that long ago and i was scared to death. hopei handle it better this time and that nothing has changed in there lol  been12 years pray for me

Colonoscopies can be done without any sedatives/medications, but most people do not prefer this option as it can be very painful, which sometimes makes it difficult for the doctor to perform the test.  I had general anesthesia (completely unconscious) during my colonoscopy because of my age, and it went just fine.  I have also had sedatives for endoscopies and this also usually went fine.

wow they didnt put you out. i would think that be worse.so you knew everything that was going on?

hi i have had colonoscopy twice wasent to bad i wasent put to sleep on two i had,they give me little sedative to  relax you think  every one gets that,,of course its little unpleasent when they put some air into you  just  so they can see inside ,realy not to bad,staff were fantastic,,sure you be fine  good luck ..
