I developed IBS after my gallbladder removal and was like all of you. I am taking Welchol my gastro prescribed it to me. I take 3 pills in the morning and that's it. I can get any type of foods and never have a IBS episode. Before I could hardly eat anything because I would end up in the restroom. But this medicine is wonderful. I always remember to take it. I am not afraid to go anywhere anymore, wondering if I will be racing to a restroom. I can eat fried food, dairy, veggies, fruit, any kind and never have to worry anymore
I had my gall bladder taken out February 27th. I had a major attack Dec. 27th that put me in the ER, and around the begining of February I started taking bile salts and digestive enzymes too. I kept taking them right after I had my GB removed and have continued to take them. I have tried skipping them a few times, and things didn't go so well, I had bloating, burping, and felt very uncomfortable, especially if there was any dairy or higher fat food that I had eaten. I don't know if I will have to take them forever, but they do seem to help. I have tested what I can eat, and other than maybe real spicy food, I have been eating almost what ever I want since about a week after the surgery, but I am still avoiding anything fried.
I got mine from this site:

There is some decent info on this lady's site.
I'm basically using the gall bladder starter kit that they sell on this site.
