i lost 5 - 6 kg from h.pylori

Hi guys I have be diagnosed positive for h.pylori around a week and a half ago. I first started to get the symptoms around a month and a half ago. I have lost 5 – 6 kg in this time. My doctor has given me an antibiotic course for two weeks. I am still loosing weight but not at the same rate as I did before. I only feel not able to eat and want to vomit in the morning only and when my stomach is empty (before I started the medication I had to force food into my throat to eat ) what id worrying me is that I am still losing weight is that may be due to the type of food I eat I usually eat high protein and oily food I also like to eat rice and bread and I am not a big fan of vegetables and fruits. Can you please help me? Oh and by the way I still feel that I am very tiered and can’t sleep well at night.

hi, i think you should have blood tests for peace of mind, also it sounds like you have a strong infection inside besides h-pylori, losing weight fast is not a good sign, make sure to drink lots of fluids and go back and explain everything your going through to your gp, good luck.

hi, yes it takes a couple of months to heal the stomach linning after the h-pylori is gone, but you have to have medication like nexium during this time because your stomach can only heal when the acid production is neutralised and blocked, or else the inflammation will continue to give you reflux, its like waiting for cement to dry while continuosly pouring water onto it. funny example i know. so go back to your doctor and state what ive told you, he or she should have explained this after your endoscopy results. cheers.

Is it common to get a runny stool at the end of the H pylori antibiotic course? I have had this course for two weeks now the pain has became minimal but this morning I had to use the toilet two times at home and two times at the office. during the two weeks i have only lost 1/2 kg is that also normal?

What symptoms do you believe you had from H. Ployri?  I had an endoscopy done in March because of really bad reflux, that suddenly started while on vacation in Sept.  My endoscopy showed that I had H. Ployri.  I was put on the two week treatment.  The first two days my tummy was messed up but after that I had a hard time falling a sleep and had very litttle energy.  I finished treatment a little over a month ago and i still have bad reflux. :(  I'm normal weight, non smoker and non drinker and exercise several times a week.  I had a second endoscopy last week that showed the h. ployri is gone and my inflammation is gone.  Does it take time for heartburn to go away after the ployri has been killed?  if so how long?

Antibiotics for H. pylori often cause prominent nausea. Be sure to complete the whole treatment regime, and have a test for H. pylori again after that, to see if it is cured.

It is typically to lose weight with gastritis/ulcus. If it was gastric cancer, meat would have bad smell for you.
