Lower left stomach/back stabbing pains

Need help/advice- i've had on and off stabbing pains in my lower left stomach and occasionally opposing back area for two plus years now. Ultrasound, CT scan, colonoscopy (twice), full blood panel, have left my doctor "speculating" diverticulitis and my gastroenterologist "speculating" IBS. Absolutely no problems with bowel movements. Neither doctor can pin point a specific problem. I've been on 40 g daily dose of lovestatin for high cholesterol and am concerned that this may be a contributing factor. Doctor says no when I've asked if possible. The pain continues on a daily basis and I've decided to give an accupuncturist a try as nothing else has provided relief. Any advice?

Have them check your kidneys!  I had similar pain with a nasty kidney infection.  I had no idea that i had an infection till the awful pain came along.  Good luck!!

have them check your amylase & lipase.  i have pain like that and my amylase is slightly elevated & i have bouts of mild pancreatitis.  i've changed my diet avoid fatty foods & the pain is better...i can link it to eating poorly.  good luck.
