im supposed to get my kidneys checked soon. im 21 and i have gout too, so my doc for that wants to have me do urine samples cause of the euric acid content. ill definitely keep u posted. im not sure, i think it was just all over, specifically in my blood. they chekced everything and said that my liver was in pretty good shape. does diet affect pain on your right side? i do have a pretty crummy diet.

I don't know what the pain on your right side could be. Is it just below the ribcage,    What did your Doc. say about your kidneys? Since all your tests were good, and depending on how long you have been getting the phlebotomies, I  don't see a reason for the pain. Regarding your ultra sound. Where where the iron contents? On the liver?

hey hows it going, yeah my doc ran tests on my bro a year ago for a physical, he noticed he had high iron levels in his blood or something. then we did all this blood work the ultra sound, liver biopsy and concluded my bros and i have hemocromatosis. i do phlebotomies once every four months, ill defiintely ask my doc if he'll let me do them more often. forgot to say about the ultra sound, did that twice and they didnt find anythign wrong except the high iron contents. u know if theres any medicine that u can take to ease the soreness on your right side, or is phlebotomies the only thing available.

Hemochromatosis is usually an inherited disease. It is an excess deposit of Iron in your organs. No other way to lower the Iron other than having a Phlebotomy.
Why do you have to wait 4 months? You should be able to have a Phlebotomy when you need it.
How long have you had the disease? At first phlebotomies are take often to reduce iron to proper levels. Then longer periods depending on the patient.
What do you mean "giving blood isn't kicking it"?
I would question why they gave you a liver biopsy if all tests were negative. Ultra Sound or CT scan would have made more sense before such an invasive procedure as a biopsi.
