Oh, I've been at that all my life, and some of my relatives same thing.  All it is, you are replenishing your body with water from the food and drink of a meal, and it loosens up the flem.  For example, in the morning in winter I notice it the most.  That's when the furnace has been running all night and I'm all dried out.  Once I eat my breakfast, juice, coffee, take my pills, well ye ole nose starts running, and I can't blow it enough.  After dinner, anytime of the year, I'm constantly having to clear my throat when I am with family and talking.

One way to calm it down is to drink a little extra water throughout the day, and it won't bother you so much when you finally do sit down and eat.  You could also keep a little bottle of saline spray with nothing else in it, and squirt some in your nose a couple times a week, to help your nose work a little better, and that way not so much flem will be available to get stuck in your throat after you eat.
