hi tks yr post.

h pylori has been ruled out. i have made changes to my diet and also hiatal hernia was ruled out. i honestly try my best. and i have seen improvement, but about 6.30 am today i woke up to a pain in my esophagus and i got very scared , it lasted about a second but i am now very depressed thinking gastric flow may have irritated my throat.
even though i ate dinner (very light one) at 7.30 and went to bed at 11.00 .

also in the mornings when i wake up i spit up (not coughing it up) it's just there in my mouth yellowish thick sometimes spit.

Gastritis can be difficult to handle, unfortunately. If you make changes to your diet, your lifestyle and H. pylori has been ruled out (or if found and treated), you'll have a better chance of overcoming the problem. Has you doc ruled out the possibility of a hiatal hernia which can add a further complication?

It unfortunately probably took you a fairly long time to develop this condition, despite the fact that it may feel like it developed overnight. You're going to have to be somewhat patient. Meds can help tamp down the symptoms but it may take an extended period of time to change this around.

If and when you decide to discontinue the meds, try to do so in a step-down manner. There's a problem with 'rebound reflux' when coming off of any form of PPI.
