How much fiber do you eat? Do your best to get at least 40g a day. (Lots of veggies and fruits.) Also, probiotics will help. Your water intake should be at 1oz for every 2lbs, at least.

Sounds like basic constipation. You don't do anything for a while, then *wham* all at once.
