I had my gallbladder out 1 year ago. Almost 9 months on acid reflux medication and get on and off bad pain after eating the wrong thing. I tried to get off my meds and do it with good diet but it got worse. Now I'm back on even more meds. I'm just starting kefir which I do at home. I just have a bit to get used to it because I think I get a bit bloated and gas but is it recommended to take it with acid reflux? I also have a low carbohydrate and sugar diet because this forms all acid too.

Thank you both for answering. I went to the doctor today and he said it was gastroenteritis. He said the pain I was having was muscular. He put me on a brat diet. I am relieved as I was believing the worst, cancer. Thank you for so promptly answering me.
I have both GERD and atrophic gastritis (with intestinal metaplasia). I'm on PPI for life but it doesn't block the pain all the time. PPI is famous for rebound reflux. If I miss a single dose or accidentally ate anything not agreeable to my tummy, I'm doubling over. So yes, gastritis can be a very painful condition, better follow your doctor's advice to the letter and be very strict with your diet.
If the pain is severe and you also have a fever, it could be epiploic appendagitis. I was dx'd with it two years ago in ER. I think I'm having a recurrence right now - it's been 4 days of severe abdominal pain and the fever is just starting to get better. It's a self-limiting condition and eventually will go away. But when it hits, it hurts a lot!!!!
As long as you make sure your pain doesn't have rebound tenderness, and you don't have any tender point on your lower right or upper right quadrant, and no signs of excessive bleeding, you are okay.
Many of our guts are a wreck, research bovine colostrum (you can order from amazon), probiotic, kefir, digestive enzymes as natural remedies. I have not had to take heartburn meds in over 2 years
