Hi Darlene,
So sorry to hear of your problems, my wife suffers from nausea 24/7 and has so for the last three years. Much like you she has undergone a number of tests which came back negative, however, she underwent a gastric emptying test earlier this year which showed delayed gastric emptying, a condition which can lead to nausea. She is still undergoing further tests which I believe the consultant feels will allow him to confirm his initial thoughts of gastroparesis. I hope this helps,
kind regards, Kevin.
I also had that test done about one month ago and they did not find anything wrong. I am just getting so frustrated.
I thank you for your help. I hope your wife finds some answers as well.
I'm sorry to hear that things have not improved. With my wife we were told we had been given all the tests and she'd have to live with it. Subsequently we gained a second opinion and have had numerous tests since which have uncovered a problem. The moral of our story has been to find someone (consultant expert) interested in addressing nausea, there will be one close-by and a second opinion might bring fresh hope. In addition there are a number of books worth looking at as they highlight common, and not so common causes of nausea, eg Nausea and Vomiting Handbook (look up on one of the book selling sites). Whilst I'm not saying self-diagnose it will arm you with some knowledge. I wish all the best for a speedy recovery, kind regards, Kevin.
My husband know's what you are going through he has suffered with sickness after most meals and if not sick feels sick every day for the last 2 1/2 yrs he has had every test under the sun all negative apart from weak stomach valve and delayed stomach emptying, he has been very sick over the last 2 weeks where he is now in hospital, however the consulant will still not agree for surgery for the weak valve, he can't even keep water down his anti sickness drugs are not working and is currently having sickness via IV
Many Thanks
Nicola
