upper left abdomen pain

I have been having pain in upper left abdomen ,just below the ribs for a few weeks now that has got really quite severe this past week.It seems to get worse when I eat also if I drink anything with sugar in it.I am worried that it could be my pancreas.Where is the pancreas located and does it correlate with left sided abdominal pain?If not what else could it be I wonder?I feel really ill. Thanks for any helpful advise.

I have had extreme pain on my left side for two days now.  It is right below my left breast underneath my ribcage. I had x-rays and c-scan yesterday and they saw nothing.  My pain can be excruciating at times!  The only relief I get is when I apply a lot of pressure to that area.
It is very frustrating not knowing exactly what is wrong with me!
