vomiting

My daughter, age 12, woke me last night around 3:00am complaining of her stomach hurting "badly". I asked her to show me the location of where she's hurting and it was her stomach. She said she was belching (smelled like sulfur) some. My first thought was she was starting her menstrual cycle for the first time and it was cramping and making her stomach upset. I didn't want to give her anything as far as Tylenol though thinking if it wasn't cramping it would make her feel worse. She started belching several times so I thought she may have a sour stomach and gave her some pepto bismol. About 45 min. after she took the pepto she vomited and what she had eaten for dinner about 9.5 hours earlier looked as if she had just eaten it. When she was finished she laid back down and finally fell asleep. At 5:00am my alarm goes off and she wakes up. I asked her how she was feeling and she said "fine" that her stomach didn't hurt anymore and she felt better. She gets up to go to the bathroom and just as soon as she reaches the bathroom she starts vomiting again only this time there was nothing left but saliva. That is what has worried me because it seems even saliva is making her ill. Is this just a virus or possibly something more?

PPS- If the pain is located at the bellybutton, or down to HER right of it , please take her in. Could be appendix. usually has fever, vomiting or nausea and bad ache in that area.

Sound like a virus. If it continues for more than today, I would take her in to make sure.  Or if she gets a fever over 101 or has pain, take her in.
Try giving her warm water to drink. As hot as she can stand it without burning her mouth.
It will help the esophagus muscles and tummy muscles relax so that the vomiting stops. It also clears the tummy of bacteria or virus. Sip it if she is still vomiting. If not vomiting, drink it like a reg cup of tea.
If she gets nauseas, you can buy what is called anti-nausea liquid at Longs Drugs. It is merely coke syrup. Yes,....coca cola syrup....no fizz. Resolves nausea instantly and very safe!
If you can't find it, call around to the drive ins and see if any one will sell you just the syrup. McDonald's here for us does.
It also stops vomiting in small doses.
Best of luck. Will pray for her.
PS-Undigested food is pretty normal with a stomach bug. Stomach rejects it due to illness so it comes back up.
