What to do after doctor says "you may have a small GIST" ?

Last December I had an endoscopy to try to find out why I have been having episodes of nausea and GERD-like symptoms. The endoscopy showed some irritation but no ulcers, bile reflux, or hiatal hernia. At the bottom of the operative note the doctor said, "you may have a small gist tumor" but when I asked her about it she said she didn't think it was causing my symptoms and didn't require follow-up. The biopsy of the area was negative, which I am learning isn't uncommon. Everything I have read indicates that a suspicion of GIST should be followed up...I am currently seeking a second opinion but would appreciate any advice
