Abnormal blood results

I recently had some blood work done as I went to the doctor just feeling off.  When the results came back, my white cell count is high and so are some non-specific inflammatory marker.  The inflamatory marker is almost 3 times normal sitting at 13 with a range 0-5.

So the doctor thought I could have some inflamation somewhere.  He checked my tonsils as I get tonsilitis and general infected/inflamed tonsils regularly but havent had an issue now for maybe 4 months or so.  Tonsils are all clear.  He felt around my stomach and sides feeling for any inflammation or tenderness to give him an indication where the inflamation may be...but to no avail...he found nothing.  The doctor said physically I seem completely healthy.

Otherwise, Im 19 relatively healthy - my only health issue is my platelet count is always high due to a hereditary blood disorder (only affects red cells and platelets not white cells) and I have thyroid issues...

What else could be causing white cells and inflamatory markers to be elevated?
Thanks :)

No allergy tests suggested yet.  At a routine ultrasound yesterday we discovered the inflammation of my thyroid has re-appeared (I have autoimmune thyroid issues) and so doc is thinking my thyroid inflammation is the answer...bloods are being re-done in 2 weeks along with a thyroid scan to see how the inflammation is going.

Thanks for replying!! :)

In some cases, allergies can cause this problem, they can definitely cause inflammation as that is why so many folks with allergies can get even pneumonia. Has the doc suggested doing any testing for allergies?
