Anyone ever try Pramipexole (Mirapex, Mirapexin, Sifrol) for chronic pain?

Since there doesn't appear to be a pain forum I thought I would post this here. Has anyone tried Pramipexole (Mirapex, Mirapexin, Sifrol) for chronic pain? I have had low back pain for about 15 years now. I finally got someone to do an MRI back in June (I think, it was slightly before summer 2016) and they found a herniated disc at L4-L5 and a degenerated disc at L5-S1. The neurosurgeon decided surgery wasn't worth the risk and pain treatment was the best option. I've been referred to dozens of pain specialists but they either can't take me because they are full or they won't accept my insurance. I finally found a doctor who is willing to prescribe Hydrocodone but it is only about a 10-20% reduction in pain and she doesn't seem to want to prescribe anything stronger. She is ok prescribing muscle relaxers and non-controlled substances but none of the muscle relaxer's help. I have been reading positive things about Pramipexole helping with pain and was thinking about suggesting it to my doc to try in combo with my Hydro. I was just curious if anyone here has any experience with it or knows someone who has?
