Arm pain, confusion & fatigue, undiagnosed issues

Hey guys,

I'm a 26yo male, about 180cm/65kg, caucasian in Australia.

About 3 and a half months ago I stopped smoking cannabis. I had been planning to stop, but an event triggered me cutting it out completely.

For no reason one night, I did not consume as much as normal, just a small amount. My ability to concentrate deteriorated rapidly, in a concerning non-relaxing way. I would look at something and completely black out for a moment, then a second later be looking at a slightly different spot. For example, I was watching TV and when some text was on screen I was attempting to read it - i would get a little through it, i would completely lose my conscious ability to read and "snap" back to reality after about a second, unable to regain my place. I have never experienced anything like it before, and it didn't ease up for about 20 minutes. Tried to ignore it.

After this, I started to experience severe arm pain (left arm), confusion, anxiety, and tried to sleep it off. I was slightly convulsive, with spasms I had never experienced before in random parts of my body (legs, arms, etc).

The following days and weeks I had major lethargy, dizziness, confusion, and complete lack of energy. I would almost pass out doing basic things. This has improved with time, now I am about 70-80% of the energy I was prior to this incident, with my attention span returning.

During the day at work I would start to get pale and start "zoning out", similar to if I had not eaten anything, with fear of passing out in front of my colleagues becoming a real concern. This has also greatly improved.

Since that night 3.5 months ago I have barely consumed cannabis - very, very light vaping to help taper off and keep withdrawal symptoms at bay while I deal.

The most notable issue with this however, is that since this event, I have had arm pain every day at intervals. Muscles do not lock up or spasm, it feels like a shock that goes from my head to my upper arm, at the very core of my arm, in the bone, even. Does not feel muscular, at least from my perspective. This is followed by a dull ache in the core of my arm for about 20-30s, then it goes. Not related to any activity. Sometimes it's when i'm asleep, sometimes when I'm just walking, sometimes when sitting at my desk.

At first it was 4-5 times a day, now it is every 24-48h, but still like clockwork. I've had chest pain on the outer side of my body (far left, far right) nowhere near my heart, and my doctor has done blood tests but says that it isn't anything he can figure out. It's receded greatly in the last few weeks, only every few days do i get any tightness or discomfort in my chest. I have a feeling he's just terrible and I'm thinking about having some more tests done with another doctor.

Not taking any medication, don't drink, eat healthily, exercise a few times a week (jogging), overall excellent health.

What does this sound like, if anything? :/ I can't explain it and I've seen a few local doctors whose responses have ranged from confusion to complete apathy/telling me it's anxiety. It doesn't feel like any anxiety I've ever had, and I'm very calm all the time.

Thank you <3

Hello~I am thinking that maybe you have some pinched nerves in your neck and upper spine and even some vertebrae out of alignment, if you do, this would possibly cause the symptoms you are having.

Since you have seen the doctors already and they don't seem to have any clue, I would like to suggest seeing a chiropractor, he/she will take some x-rays of the neck and upper back and after looking them over, be able to ascertain just what the problem is. After a few treatments, you should start to feel better.

Look into a rarely diagnosed condition called Nutcracker Syndrome (Left Renal Vein Compression). Most of your symptoms could be caused by ME or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. Several case studies have shown that severe compression of the Left Renal Vein can cause ME/CFS. Join a Nutcracker Syndrome group on Facebook. You’re symptoms are common complaints of people that have been diagnosed with this condition.
