Breast lump in male due to Ranitidine side effect

Hi, I'm a 20 year old male.
I've noticed over the last two months a small bump on one of my breasts that can be felt and moved around like an extra tissue growth. It appears to stick out more like a breast bud but is still quite small.
I have been a very regular taker of Ranitidine (found in Zantac tablets) and it is a recognised side effect that Gynecomastia can occur in males as a result of taking this drug.

My question is, if I stop taking this drug, will my Gynecomastia condition improve? Will the lump go away in a matter of weeks (ive been off the drug for 1 week so far). Or will it just stop the condition from getting worse. Also a side effect of Zantac tablets is impotence and loss of libido, because I suffered from Gynocomastia, does this necesserily mean I will/am suffering from loss of libido and impotence?

Thanks alot to anyone who helps.

I doubt skipping meals is going to help except to weaken your immune system. Taking a more natural approach to your stomach problems and getting your hormone levels checked out is your best course of action Rosencrantz. Your body needs the nurishment to meet the demands you put on it.

Just a tip for you, every time a person cuts back too much on food his/her body goes into starvation mode. When this happens our bodies begin to make more fat cells and store fat in them, this also can happen when we are overstressed. As you are doing a lot of exercise it means that you are producing more adrenaline. If there is too much for the body to get rid of it will create fat cells to store the excess adrenaline. It is not a win/win situation.

As for playing with it .........leave it alone and find out what it is Rosecrantz.

All the best to you :)

I don't know, but having it checked out would be a good thing to do.

I was wondering as I stop using the drug, would the breast lump decrease in size or will it just stop getting bigger? I did not have this condition before starting the Zantac.

Go to a doctor to have the lump checked out.

Swelling in male breasts can be a side effect, or did you have this condition before taking the drug? If you did, stopping this drug may be a good idea.

Have you tried anything else to help your stomach problems?
