Burning flank pain a mystery

Urologist says it's not kidney related - so what IS it?

No blood in urine
No pain upon urination
Small stones present but not a problem

Diagnosed with diffuse scleroderma  2 1/2 years ago
Have moderate esophageal/GI involvement
as well as mild-moderate scarring of my lungs

Also dx w/endometriosis

This burning flank pain comes and goes in intensity ranging from a annoying 2 to an incapacitating 8.  No OTC meds help. Pain has presented on both sides but is usually more pronounced on one side  - this time its the right.

First occurence 10 years ago. Flares maybe 2 -3  times a year now, lasts weeks at a time.

Nerve pain?  Muscular?  All in my head?

Frustrated!  Help!  Any ideas?

Going to try the Xanax doc prescribed......
