Causes of calf pain when standing up?

For the last month or so my right calf has had a dull pain when I stand up from a kneeling position. The pain happens when the calf muscle starts to relax from standing up. The pain has gotten worse over the last few weeks and it makes it hard to stand up from a kneeling position. The pain feels like it's in the muscle. I noticed I do have some missing hair from the outside of both my calves but those bald patches have been there for about 2 years now. Figured it was was always wearing joggers. I'm 29 years old, 6 ft 2 in, and 200lbs. On average I have a resting heart rate between 56 and 60. I'm pretty active and go on 2 mile walks a few times a week and do some light weight lifting usually 2 days a week. I'm also standing and moving around for 8 hours a day at my job. About 2 days ago I noticed the pain starting in my left calf as well. It doesn't hurt to walk or run. I can tense the muscle up as hard as I can without feeling pain. The pain is primarily when standing from a kneeling position. I've read that it could anything from back problems to blood clots/poor circulation. My calves don't seem to be swelled or feel tender to the touch. When placing my finger just below my ankle on the inside of my foot I can feel a pretty strong pulse. About the same as in my wrist, maybe slightly weaker. So it seems circulation is good. No swelling in feet either.

Any ideas what could be the cause of this pain?

Hello~ Since you wrote this about a month ago, I hope you are doing better, but if not, then please try these suggestions: It sounds like it maybe a pinched vertebrae in your mid or lower back causing pain in your muscles. I would try seeing a chiropractor for this and also add a good, multi-mineral supplement to your diet..
