EMG Testing

So, I'm just curious, for anyone else who has had an emg, what was yours like? I had one on my right side of my body about a month ago. It was different from what I was expecting when I read about it, and I'm wondering if it was done right? Basically the neuro stuck needles (which I was expecting) in my various muscles, and asked me to push against his force. It sounded like he stuck a microphone in my muscles, because of the loud noise during each test.

It came back clean, or his words "normal study", which is a relief though I'm still a little worried that maybe it wasn't done properly. What are the odds that a well respected neuro wouldn't perform an EMG correctly, or that he would miss signs of a MND? I mean, is something like that easily detected by someone with nowledge of the test, or missable?

In case anyone is wondering, I had the test because of 8 plus months of all over twitching with cramping, which has consistently gotten worse and worse.

I concur with Sassylassie.

Rule out D3 insufficiency, calcium deficiency, potasion and magnesium deficiency.

Ask your physician about prescribing quinine sulfate, which was over-the-counter until five years ago. Banned because some fools were popping the pills like crazy and developed arythmias. It is still available on the internet. It was a standard treatment for cramps for 200 years.

Hello,

I would think that the odds are pretty low if your doctor was well trained and well respected. I am sure he knew what he was doing. I would certainly make an appointment for a consultation to discuss your concerns and questions, he is more qualified to answer these than I am.

Try to relax, I am sure all is fine.

Also, during the test, the neuro would say "full" to the assistant after testing each muscle. What is this about? We also had a hard time relaxing some of my muscles, especially my leg.
