Dark eye floaters

I developed a large amount of dark eye floaters in my left eye that totally obstructs my vision and consumes my entire day.  I'm wondering if they will lessen over time.  I'm really getting depressed and have stop doing a lot of the things I used to do with friends.  I started a new job and wake up extra early for a long travel, can this be the reason for the quick recent onset?

My eye doctor told me he could operate on my eyes to remove the floaters - but he would rather not if I can live with them.

Hey first go to eye doctor and get a complete eye exam. If he says everything is ok then listen when I got them I was under sever depression went to four different doctors to make sure evrything is ok. U have to get used to them. They might lessen if you reduce the stress.. U have to learn to ignore them. It took me time but then I realized that other things are more important

See an eye doctor.  It could just be floaters - or something more serious like a retinal detachment or degeneration.  Sorry this is happening to you.
