Feels like the wind is being knocked out of me...

Hi my name is Stephanie.  I have been experiencing some weird symptoms for a while now.  It never lasts long at all but I've been getting shortness of breath.  It feels like my heart either speeds up or  skips a beat.  At the same time it feels like someone is punching me in the stomach causing me to lose my breath.  Its not consistent in being able to know when it will happen.  Its not always a sudden shortness of breath either, at times it feels like my lungs have a hole in them and all the air is leaking out.  It scares me a lot.  Any idea on what it could be or if thats just normal.  I have never had any kind of tests done and I have never had any health problems so I don't know if this would be normal or not?

It sounds like what happened to me when before I was diagnosed with Asthma. Asthma can develop, so it would probably be best to go to the doctor and have some tests done.

Hey Steph0112,

I would definitely see a doctor.  Friends of mine have had this problem and sometimes it turns out to be just jolts of excitement, like a quick lapse of adrenaline being pumped into your heart which isn't anything to worry about, and other times, it could be something serious like a Heart Murmur.  I am not saying "omg time to panic" but in your leisure, I would definitely see a doctor.
