Gash above rectum!?!?

I am a 32 year old male, for a little over 2-3 months I have noticed a little spotting of blood on my toilet paper after going #2 and wiping. This would happen maybe 1-3 a week, I figured it was from maybe pushing to hard when going poop. Until recently I would notice a little blood as well as some puss like substance mixed with the blood, and this morning in the shower when soaping my buttocks area I felt a burning sensation from the soap so I worked up the courage to ask my wife to take a look. She said above my anus, maybe 1-2 inches below the top of my "butt crack" there is a 1/2" deep gash. She said it does not look infected or inflamed, just looks like a clean deep gash. I've had no injuries to that area, what could this be and what is the treatment? I shower every day and always use soap, Thank you for your time!

Hello~Sores or crack in that area can be difficult to heal. If it doesn't get better soon, however, I would ask your doctor for some cream and have it looked it.
