General Health

My husband just had surgery May 14, 2012. He had two herniated disks removed, and now he has 6 screws in his back. Last night, he started complaining of tingling or numbness in his right foot and leg.. I need to now if this is normal, or is it something we should worry about.. Please answer my question.. We live in Mexico and cant afford to go back to the doctor to ask about this problem.. Thank you.

Yes, I've had 6 back surgeries.  You should never have numbness, something is still on a nerve.

I had 2 rods put in my back 13yrs ago and am now going through the same thing. Have an appointment set up for when you get back home for sure. He may end up having pain & numbness the rest of his life if he doesn't. Nerve damage is very hard to avoid in operations of our type. Can you afford calling your Dr. at least?
