HELP!

I believe I might have been bitten by something during the night while sleeping, although there is no real physical proof that I can see other than an EXTREMELY painful, swollen big toe. Any idea what it could be? Could it be a bite?

If you sucpect that you have been bitten, you should go to the doctor as soon as you can. A spider bite can become infected and destroy tissue in the affected area. It can also develop a staph infection, which can be life threatening. Whether it is a bite, or some other problem, if it is painful and swollen, you should see the doctor. Good luck!

It could be multiple things either a bite or even an ingrown toenail or even an infection in your toenail but that usually doesnt happen overnight and there might be a fowl odor to it... you should go to the doctor to be on the safe side... if your stubborn to try that though try putting ice on it and take advil to help with the swelling

Hello, yes it is possible it could be a bite.  It could also be GOUT which generally starts in the big toe, or cellulitis which is inflammation of the cells in a particular area.  You probably need to get it checked because treatment is available to help decrease the swelling and pain, and all the conditions can be very painful. Prolonged swelling in an area can also cause decreased circulation making additional problems for you to have to deal with.   I Hope This Helps!
