Holy cow, that's a lot to deal with! I'm glad you are working with your doctor which is your best source of information. So, two this you have to treat-- the venous stasis and the dermatitis which is secondary. Are you on blood thinners to prevent clots? I'm assuming you've had a full physical and evaluation to help determine why this happened and if you have any other underlying or comorbid conditions like diabetes. If you smoke, stop Like now, stop. Definitely stick with the compression stockings! Movement is actually helpful even though being on your feet seems to aggravate the situation. Exercise is even better if you can do it in small stints. (and your doctor says it is okay). They may end up injecting the problem veins with a solution that ultimately will force blood through the healthier veins OR they may do an ablation. Hopefully it doesn't come to that.
Ugh, does anyone in your family have this as well? A parent, grandparent?
