I Need Help!

I am 36/W/M, non-smoker, non-drinker, not overweight. For just over a year I have been having these weird "sensations" on the left side of my chest, closer to my armpit rather than the middle. I have been to the ER twice thinking heart attack, as well as the cardiologist who did a nuclear stress test with the whole 9 yards. I was told my heart is fine. My blood pressure has always been really good.

I currently take Crestor 10mg 1x daily for hereditary high cholesterol and it has my total cholerterol at desireable levels. I also take Allopurinol 300mg 1x daily because I had gout a few years back and my uric acid count was elevated above normal. Aside from these 2 things I am in pretty good health.

Around the time this sensation stuff started I stopped taking caffeine. I drink mostly water now and although I am not always exercising, I do get off my butt and stay relatively active. I work a desk and I do sit at the computer when I am at home for a good bit each day.

I have noticed that I sometimes get this dull ache around my left shoulder blade and here lately it has been coinciding with that weird chest sensation, which in itself may be centered around the nipple or the far left side of my chest. The feelings are not deep, and seem closer to the surface of the skin (just below). I have also had these weird neck muscle spasms from time to time, but that may be unrelated.

I thought I might be developing some type of general anxiety but I do not have any phobias, I can go to work and live in society just fine, and although I am slightly OCD it does not run my life. I have not seen a doctor about what is currently happening. Pinched nerve? Bulging disc?

Any thoughts, clues or suggestions?

It may be your medications. One sideeffect of allopurinol is unusual aching or painful muscles. You should talk to your doctor about it. Just a question: what is OCD?

Sitting in the same position for too many hours may also be bothering you too. Getting up and walking around every couple of hours or sooner and stretching will relieve you muscles from being in the same position too long.  Have you ever noticed the habits of a cat? They seem to lay around all the time sleeping but every so often they get up and stretch all their body. Most cats have good muscle tone, could be that stretching they do is why.
