Is it just me??

Hi there!

When I came back to medhelp after being away for some time; I decided it was my obligation to 'pay back' the help I was given, by answering questions from other members. However, I have come across posts that are (supposedly) from people that say that they are 14 or 15 years old. When I read the messages, they strike me as odd. Either the spelling, grammar and punctuation seems way too good for someone that young - or it looks as though the writer is deliberately spelling incorrectly and 'dumbing down' their words here and there. Has anyone else noticed something like that? I hesitate to answer their question(s) because I can't get rid of this nagging suspicion that it is actually being asked by someone (much?) older. Perhaps I'm just being paranoid. :-) I can't understand why someone would want to use medhelp to pretend to be a young girl or guy. Usually it's a girl. This isn't a chat room, so I can't figure out what a person or persons would get out of impersonating a teenager. Has anyone else run into posts like I'm talking about - or is it just me?? Thanks for sharing, I appreciate ANY thoughts on this! Take care ...

... That is precisely what I think someone, or several some one's are doing, impersonating being a teenager AND of the opposite sex. If I am correct, and there is no way of knowing except to avoid certain posts, then there are some truly freaky people out there! :-)

Being ashamed of what they had, I'm talking about the condition. Basically an old man will hesitate to ask a boy for he believe he's more knowledgeable. And the other reason is, they're not so good in writing (including me). The only excuse not to be corrected is to impersonate a teenage boy or girl.
