Is my wound infected or is it normal?

Hey so I scraped my foot pretty bad on some asphalt and I was wondering if it is normal or infected.

(No I haven't seen a doctor yet but I will soon.)
(The white stuff is cotton from my bandage)

I don't usually look at pictures, because they are not great indicators of what's going on- but since you didn't give much description on what you were seeing, I did take a quick look.  It looks like your foot is a bit swollen?  Have you had a fever or is the area hot to the touch?  If that is swelling, and you have had any drainage, the area is hot to the touch, you have had a fever, or the pain is getting worse and not better- you likely have an infection and should let a doctor take a look.

Other wise, keep the area clean and you can put antibiotic cream on it prior to placing a bandage over it.
