Is this Hypotension or something else...?

I'm a 17 year old girl; for the past 5 years I've been having this issue. When I stand up after sitting or laying down for a fair amount of time (15+ minutes) I get dizzy. Here's the complicated part I feel fine for about 3 seconds with the exclusion of minor dizziness, then I temporarily lose my vision -everything fades to black. Soon after this I lose my ability to keep my balance  and I can't feel anything. Finally either my knees buckle or I just fall straight down. I've told my doctor, who can not think of what it might be. What ever this is makes it really hard for me to live normally and safely in my own home. It takes approximately 5-7 seconds for everything to occur and I have even busted my chin because of this. If anyone has any information that would be helpful. Thank you

It's orthostatic hypotension.  It's very common in young people, especially women.  You might be a little dehydrated.

Ask you MD to check your Iron (Ferritin) levels. Sometimes women gets low iron levels from monthly menstrual bleed. The symptoms you listed are signs of Low iron. When did you have your first period ? Think back to see if it dates to that.
Take care, I hope you find your answer.

I would seriously get this checked out. It could possibly be something that is out of your control.
