Liver Lesions

A recent US revealed a right lobe liver nodule that is hypoechoic and hypovascular, measuring 2 cm with no significant color Doppler signal.  The appearance is nonspecific.

I had a CT w/contrast following the US, but it did not reveal the lesion.  Both US and CT revealed a 5mm cyst in the left liver lobe in addition to the 2 cm nodule in the right liver lobe.  CT revealed a 8 mm nonenhancing lesion along the posterior left cortex compatible with a cyst on my kidney.

The radiologist stated in the report the lesion warrants further evaluation.  My PCP has me scheduled for  a liver protocol MRI, which I will have in a few days.  When my PCP went over the radiology findings with me he seemed a little nonchalant regarding the "liver nodule."

Can anyone give me some insight on what all this means?  Why does the CT and US not show the same findings?

Thank you!

I have two or three cysts on my liver and was told not to worry about them.  They are considered quite common and warrant no further testing unless they cause a "problem".    Hope this allays your worry.  If not, ask a surgeon about them.

Wishing you the best
