Low Grade Fever, Cough?

I started with a cough 3 days ago, noticed the last two nights that I've been running a low grade fever from about 4:30 p.m to 10 or 11 p.m., when it goes back down. The first night it ranged from 99.5 to 100.0, last night is went from 99.5 to 100.9. Also, both nights, I'm waking around 4 am from sweating - not enough to soak the bed cothes but definitely damp shirt and hair from sweat, even though the fever has not returned during that time. Also, I should add that I don't take tylenol or anything for the fever as to give my body a chance to 'kill' whatever is going on.

In the morning my temp is normal. The cough is not constant, but happens more when I take a deep breath and the exhale wants to come out forcefully. It's a mucus-y cough, but not able to get much "out", there's some chest tightness.

I'm 41 years old, female, but no health insurance. :(

Just trying to determine how worried I should be.

Hi DaisyDuke413,
I was wondering if you are still ill? If so I would go to the doctor or ER. You need to get your lungs checked and give them all your symptoms.
let me know how you are,

Hi DaisyDuke413,
Sorry you are not feeling too well. It could be a virus but usually a cold will have a nasal component, lots sneezing. Do you have a sore thoat? Is there a free clinic around your area or have they cut all of those too? If it continues I would get a doctor to listen to your lungs and make sure you don't have a pneumonia like think going on. The night sweats are concerning as is the productive cough.. Are you extremely tired? You could get skin tested for TB. These are just things I'm bringing up if this thing doesn't go away soon. It is too early to tell and hopefully you will feel better soon but if not get in to see the doctor.
take care and let me know how it goes.
