Low Vit. D

I am 38 year old female and had always been healthy until this winter.  In December I was knocked down, sleeping alot, aches and pains, loose bowels.

No health insurance until next month, been to clinics and hospital.  In the last month I was found with hematuria blood in urine and low vit. D   I was put on 50,000 units of vit d weekly.  UA again in 3 months.

I have aches/pains that come and go in limbs and fingers.  I was very tired but seem to be getting that under control.  I did loose 15 pds but now my weight is steady.  Praise.

I do have stomach pain too that comes and goes.

I have had multiple blood work everything came back fine except the vit d.

Question for women, back in August my cycle change to being intense, pain and sick, for those of you with low vit. d, could that be related?  My paps have been fine.

Doctor not giving lots of answers, I'm trying to figure everything out.  From what I am reading an underlying problem could be the root of this.  Also from this forum I have seen some information regarding kidneys.

I'm the type of person, face the problem head on, deal with it.  Not happening here, lol.

When I tell the doctor of my symptoms, I feel as if I'm crazy because I can't pin point them in one area.

I now have about 15 red pin marks on my chest stomach, arms.......not petechia though.

Good, I'm so glad to hear you'll have insurance soon. Being low on vitamin D can cause all sorts of problems, your so right about that. It very well could be the reason your having stomach pain.
You do need to be tested again soon. If your levels are coming up like they should be then you need to cut back on the D. Your on a very high dose right now.
Do you know if they checked you B levels? If those are low then you can have joint, muscle pain, tiredness and nausea.
Please keep us up to date and take care. Remar

Not having insurance has been a huge problem, I understand why the doctor doesn't want to run test.  Our game plan is to set up a primary care physican the first of april since we will have health insurance.

The stomach pain has been before the vit. D., everything I read I much be taking it than not since they are finding it is linked to other diseases.  The doctor didn't say anything about being retested on the vit. d part.

I don't have the Lupus rash, they did lots of blood test, I have several questions to ask the clinic doctor when I go in 2 weeks, which that will be one of them.

We have children and I want to know what is going on for their sake.  Honestly, I have never been this scared, one minute I' fine and the next, I'm tired.

Thanks for replying ((hugs))

What was your vitamin D level? If your low on it then it can cause all kinds of problems. The joint and muscle pains are the main ones from what I've read. I wish I could help you with the menstrual part of it but I had a hysterectomy many years ago.
I wonder too just like you about being on such a high dose of vitamin D. Did you have the stomach pain before or after they put you on vitamin D? It does a number on my stomach, making me feel nauseous.
So you go back in three months to be tested again? I hope your levels are well within range then.
I don't know about the red marks. It could be because of the high dose of D, maybe. If they don't go away soon, see your Dr again. Remar

Have you been tested for auto immune problems?  This sounds like it could be Lupus.  Definitely get that checked out.  Hopefully, it's negative, but knowing what you're dealing with is half the battle.  Being able to treat it will help you out immensely.  It's not curable, but it is treatable.

I would post this question in the Lupus community and the auto immune illnesses community.  They will be able to give you more information before you go back to your doctor.  They can give you the information on tests and treatments, so you will also know what to ask your doctor.
