Lump in Neck

Hi!  I was wondering if you could answer a question for me.  I have had a lump in my neck for months now.  It doesn't hurt and it has grown at all.  I went to the doctor and he told me that he doesn't feel it.  He took blood work which all came back normal.  A few weeks later I had strep and took zpak, which clearned the strep but not the lump.  Should I have this lump further examined?   I DEFINITELY feel it and I can't understand how he did not.  My mind is playing games with me and I am extremely nervous that this could be something.  But, I do feel fine.

well you want to make sure its nothing serious, id go to the doc. but its probably nothing life threatening, there is so many different kinds of "lumps" that can be felt in that location, where exactly on your neck is it? you just want to pay attention to it size wise see if it moves upon tightening of muscles, or upon any muscular directional movement...glad to help

Thanks for responding back...I never realized that it could be so many things...things that are nothing...It is exactly where I would get a swollen gland if I was sick..It feels like a knot, the kind that someone gets in their back if they are tense...Should I have it checked out further?

where exactly is the lump it could be a lymph node or it could be a lipoma, mesenchymoma, or some sort of nodulous core-puscle, its probably just a little BENIGN tumor...i have a few on my neck....worse comes to worse they disect them.
