My Hands !!!! Circulation ?!?!

Ever since i was right young, i always had problems with my hands started turning blue and purple more often, i remember my father use to warm my hands/gloves quite often , then when i hit 15 and started smoking cigarettes, they started turning orange as well, like a actual orange, Orange. i know my hands have always been cold, and Most people i shake hands with or receive money back from a store tell's me ," oh my god your hands are soo cold" and i often dont realize how cold they are untill i put them to a warm part on my body, and get a shivver of a life time. i think they grew numb . as well, i can clench my hands into a fist and let burning hot water pour on them , and it feels good to do so. as well.. when there soo cold where i actually cant move them, they hurt the bones in my hands, where i wanna cry! and have to put them under hot water, to make the pain go away. *usually takes awhile* ive learned to death with this, Living in Canada its cold more times here then warm! but im Scared for my future and my hands!! Father always had a good heated body and warm hands, mother has a warm body but does have artritus  (or how ever u spell it ,) Where ur body/Bones ache.  for a long time , i've only notice the orange in the hand where my cigarette was being held, but now its even when i just go out side. with no smoke in hand or even hrs of no smoke. help!!

This all sounds scary, and I can appreciate that.  There are variations of symptoms that are the same or slightly different.  To confirm, as I said, once again, you need to be proactive with your doctor if this is TRULY a concern to you and ask to have a Vascular Arterial Study done.  It is an Ultrasound and non invasive, meaning that there are no needles no pain etc.  Very simple procedure with a lot of definitive findings.  If you do not have Raynauds, great! there are still other issues going on and to see a Vascular Surgeon would be your next step.  He is there for consult and possibly other tests that may need done.  However, symptoms can carry a  vast array of diagnosis.  Smokers get bergers syndrome.  I believe I spelled that wrong.  Please see your doctor and let us know how it is turning out for you.  I am not sure how the Canadian Health care works, but I am in high hopes that it will work for you.  Everyone can give an opinion on what this could or could not be, but we are not doctors and to stall and not get your own ball rolling would be of dis-service to yourself. I will say prayers for you if that is ok.

Number one Stop Smoking!  You may think its easy for me to say, but I stopped 1 year and 3 months ago.  Smoking constricts the vessels so there is no blood flow to the area of your hands.  This will begin to happen to your feet as well.  I am not a doctor, but with your symptoms and how it has been since you were alittle girl.  Everytime you put hot water on hour hands will actually burn your hands since the nerve endings are impaired.  You need to speak to your doctor and have them send you to a specialist.  You may have Raynauds Syndrome or a variation of.  If your doctor sends you to have a Vascular Arterial Doppler study done, this will be able to confirm Raynauds Syndrome and start you on a treatment plan.  However, Raynauds cannot be cured, it can be managed.  Keeping your core warm along with your hands and feet.  Doctor may even prescribe a nitrate which is a vasodilator to keep the vessels open for blood flow.  If you value your hands, STOP SMOKING!!  Constricted blood flow could lead to necrosis and death of tissue hence amputation! Call your doctor today and do not hesitate!  Take control of YOU!   It is an ultrasound and nothing invasive but it will give you a lot of answers and a path to a right direction from here (your future).  ***Specialist would be a Vascular Doctor.********Have I said this already>>>Stop smoking!  Look up Peripheral Vascular Disease.  If you have dealt with that much pain over the years, you can deal with smoking cessation, it will save your life and hands/feet/legs/arms!

Sounds like you have Reynaud's syndrome.  It is caused by poor circulation - my daughter's hands and feet turn blue when she gets cold and she was told to try to keep them warm at all times.  I haven't heard of a cure, sorry.  But perhaps taking Cod liver oil and Fish oil supplements will help as they thin the blood and make circulation easier and faster.
