Pain in lower left side of body (same level as belly button)

Hey I woke up this morning and noticed this dull pain (or ache) at my lower left side of my body. It doesn't hurt or interfere with my activity except that when I stand up and walk it sort of hurts. I don't know if it's because of the food I ate last night (tons of chilli so had a stomach upset - that ache felt slightly better after reliving myself)

Or because I slept on my side so perhaps i caused some slight trauma? Thanks!

Edit: I just tried walking about, it's fine just that i can sorta 'feel' the ache there.

Hey thanks for the advice! and SassyLassie too!

I guess the first time was gas and Katie you're right I just had this happen to me about 2 hours ago (again). And this time right I guess it was bowels because after clearing them I feel better. Should probably cut down on the chilli though (:

Thanks for the advice! :)

Yep sounds like your gut is upset after eating that chilli. Also alot of people get some pain in the lower left or right abdo just from needing to open their bowels or pass wind - if this is relieving your pain, that's probably all it is.
Peppermint tea, peppermint water, or peppermint oil capsules can help to relieve the discomfort caused from wind pain and irritable bowel. Walking often relieves it too.

Hope this helps :)

Sounds like gas to me. Gas can cause all kinds of pain, pain that a person would not even think of.

If you have this alot, I would suggest trying some digestive enzymes, this helps with gas, also, you might want to see a chiropractor, you could very well have some misplaced vertebrae in your mid back, and if that is the case, you will sure have the pain you described.
