Five days ago I developed severe pain in my extremities, back, neck, forehead, and hips.  The pain is deep and hurts to move.  I have had an awful headache during this time as well.  Stretching does not help.  I have tried hot showers and baths to try to alleviate the pain, but it did not help, in fact, it made it worse.  I cannot lay in one position for more than 10-15 seconds at a time.  I feel so restless and uncomfortable.  Has anyone ever experienced this kind of awkward pain?

Why not ask your doctor for a pain killer? There is no reason to suffer with so many meds out there that can help you.

I'm so sorry to hear your in so much pain. Can you call your Dr and ask for some pain meds? I do hope you get your results back very soon so you know what's going on. Please keep me up to date. You can PM me any time if you want to talk to someone, okay.  Remar

Home from the hospital, I'm staying at my Mom's house.  I thought my hip hurt before, but after having a large needle extract bone marrow from my hip, I'd rather go back to the previous pain!  Let's hope all these test results merge together to form a diagnosis.

I went to my GP yesterday, he ran some stat blood tests: hemoglobin levels high and high white blood cell count.  I had multiple x-rays and a full body CT scan.  It showed dark spots on many bones, especially my thighs and hips.  I'm scheduled for a bone marrow test tomorrow.  They are doing a blood smear as well, but that takes a few days to get the results.  I haven't had a fever at all, and I don't use over the counter medications.
I'm getting a little scared.

Your condition, if it exists now, warrants a visit to an emergency room. At a teaching hospital. As of NOW.

Not an "appointment" with your G.P., no matter how competent he/she may be. This is not the time for a "doctor visit".

Your initial approach to self-treatment makes sense, but there are a few very s erious possibilities that have to be considered. Usually these problems are self-limiting.

The headache symptom bothers me.
Please keep this board poasted.

Do you have fever? What over the counter medications have you tried?

You should see your Dr to find out what's going on. Are you having any other symptoms like fever? Is it muscle, joint pain or both?
It's really hard to say what's going on. It could be one of many different things like a virus, arthritis, fibromyalgia. Only your Dr can say for sure. I hope you feel better soon. Take care. Remar
