Headache for 5 days Ocipital Pain

I have herniated disks in my neck. I was working out with free weights and worked on my house and and I work up with this horrible headache and lower back pain. Mostly centered in the back of my head on the left occipital bone. I do have pressure/pain on an off in the temple area, above the left eyebrow and top of my head.  I went to the Chiro for an adjustment and acupuncture today. The back is a bit better , but the headache is still there.  I have iced, Advil, massaged it.  Anything else I can do?

Thank you for the reply. I have a slight scoliosis as well. The dr said my shoulder neck muscle are really tight. I also have a rib under my should blade that keeps popping out for some reason.  The alignment and acupuncture really helped the head pain, they put me on Juan Bi for the shoulder neck pain and tightness and Blood Palace for circulation. I also starting taking Oregano oil.  It helps with the pain. Its doing wonders for the post nasal drip as well!

Hi there haven't seen you on here forever.  Glad you were doing so good for so long...

I take vitamins and supplements for my headaches:  CoQ10, Calcium and Vitamin B complex.  An ice pack on top of my head also seems to help. -  Back in the day people would soak their feet in hot water with epsom salts while they put an ice pack on their head.  It was the cure-all in the 20's to 50's.   - Sadly, many don't even know about it anymore.

I agree with your comment.  However, i would add Epsom Salts to the bath as they contain Magnesium and it could ease the spams.  A lovely way to get more magnesium! :)

Hi there, I have scoliosis, and was in a car accident a month ago; I moved my head to the side so fast to avoid airbag, they said would have broken my nose. My neck is in turmoil and now i have these pounding headache, sometimes near or around eyes, the back of my head and sometimes full blown migraine! Unfortunately i can't give you advice on this site as to which medication you can use, I suggest you see a doctor as not to silence the symptoms, so you can accurately pinpoint the issue and go from there. I am surprised you are able to do all of that, good for you my friend!!! seriously, but with your condition, unfortunately, you have to be careful, esp. the free weights, which is lol, exactly what happened to me today working out for 2nd time in two years. My neck and back feels like it is in a vice grip, and the headache will come shortly thereafter, as per my experience. I am lying down with ice to hopefully prevent that! In meantime I need to get my neck checked out! How is acupuncture and chiro. therapy doing for you otherwise? I am interested for myself too! well we are in this together my friend, and I wish the best of the best to you and hope you feel better! In meantime, try to relax, keep icing. You can put rice in a sock and microwave it for 30 seconds to a minute depending on your unit, take a bath, and definitely see a dr. for further advice!
