Prednisone withdrawal: painful tiny rashlike bumps on her neck, under her ear?

My mom was taking predniso e to treat hormonal deficiency I believe (it had something to do with adrenal gland malfunctioning). Her doctor told her to stop them about a week ago but now she has these tiny rash-like bumps that started around her neck and ear area and now it's spreading to her chin and upper chin.
She tells me that it hurts and itches.
I'm really worried about this. Her doctor told her to take the prednisone back again if she was vomiting or felt nauseous. But so far the rash is the only weird symptoms she has.
