I  have a macular hole in my right eye and  have been urged to have a vitrectomy done. I also have sleep apnea and have to sleep with a mask at night. One Doctor recommended gas  tampo-nade whereas a second doctor recommended silicone oil. I had cataract surgery in 2001 in the right eye. I was very short-sighted previos to the cataract  surgery.  Which vitrectomy method is better for me? I live in Berlin, Germany.

Had hole in my retina and had surgery in March / 12 that was successful. It was with the gas bubble.

For eye questions there is the eye care forum. They have opathmologists that are on that site. I think you will have better luck getting a good answer for eye care on that site.
