Slightly concerned about a blister...?

I was riding a fairly excited horse yesterday...in shorts. Shorts and leather don't go together, especially when your skin is rubbing against it constantly. So I ignored it and finished my ride, hopped off, and took her back to the barn. It was oozing pretty nicely at this point, just fluid. I washed the *tiny amount* of dirt out of it with the hose and kept going normally throughout my day. By the time I got home, my leg was swelling, the pain radius was about 2-3 inches out from the actual damage. I cleaned it best I could with warm water and put a gauze pad over it held in place with athletic tape (don't have band aids big enough). Did the same today, changed it this morning and kept it covered throughout the day. The swelling went down and the pain radius is smaller, but my muscle has gotten really sore. Am I worrying too much or should I actually keep an eye on it?

You have probably done all  you can do - some over the counter antiinfection cream may help, but I'm sure it'll go away by itself. but if it doesn't - get it checked!
