myoclonic jerks, can't sleep

I'm having what appear to be myoclonic jerks and can't sleep. They were happening numerous times all day and they still won't stop. I try to lay on my back, left, right or stomach and it keeps happening. I went to my doctor today about it. I'm not sure if i have epilepsy as i had a normal MRI but my doctor is going to send me for an EEG. Whatever the cause, any tips on falling asleep with these? It's jerking my head back and what seems like my upper torso and neck. It's also my legs and hip area when I lay down.

I certainly hope it helps - I would be interested to know how you fare.

I think taking acidophilus first thing in the morning would also help to absorb nutrients as we need good bacteria to assimilate any food we consume.   We've all taken antibiotics at one time or another and it's possible that we haven't done enough to replenish the good bacteria.  (I myself having just gone through a treatment of amoxicillin, am taking a double dose of acidophilus twice a day to hurry up the recuperation).

     Wishing you the best outcome.

I'm not taking anything right now, I've been having B12 problems for a while and managed to finally get it up with B12 in liquids as the foods and supplements weren't enough and I hate needles so I may be having problems absorbing as well. Something more absorbable would be best with my fickled stomach. I will definitely look into both of these. I've been having problems with my legs(mostly just my right but did happen once in my left) of leg weakness and completely giving out on me. The evening the jerks started my legs were so weak and unstable I couldn't walk at times at all so seems plausible it could be muscular and something that could have depleted with time as I was a gymnast 10 years ago and definitely had none of these problems along with a healthier diet.

Thank you for your suggestion :)

Are you taking a good Magnesium supplement?  Magnesium and Zinc are so important for muscle health.  Magnesium
Glycinate or Gluconate are the most absorbable types.  Read about magnesium and see if it can help with your symptoms.

Wishing you the best
